Thanks for visiting my website! This month's photo is of Calvin Henry, Juan Jose Flores (a Baxter graduate now working in Ibarra, Ecuador), and me. We are on a beautiful overlook above the city of Ibarra. [Click picture to enlarge.]
I am Jan's husband; Michael, Philip, and Geoff's dad; and papaw to Skyla, Madison, Nathanael, Joseph Blair, and Morgan Jayne. My favorite breakfast is huevos fritos, frijoles, and tortillas, with a good hot sauce! My great joy in life is being part of the Kingdom; my goal is to advance "kingdom things." I seek to serve and share the "good news" about Jesus the King everywhere I go.
After serving over a decade in Christian higher education, I now work with the Main and Oklahoma congregation in McAlester, Oklahoma. I am blessed to be able to continue also an active involvement in missions, seminars and workshops, consulting, teaching, and research and writing.

Sermons on this site are indexed in three ways.
Several dangers exist in publishing sermon materials in written form. First, materials that are intended for oral delivery seldom have the same impact in written form. Second, even with generally complete manuscripts of sermons, the written materials seldom reflect the exact content of the oral presentation. Materials are often added or deleted during the preaching task. Especially is this true when only abbreviated notes or outlines are available at a sermon link. Third, some the notes available here are in an abbreviated manuscript form which I have developed through the years, at times difficult to decipher and not always complete. Fourth, materials and illustrations are borrowed from a variety of sources in developing materials intended for oral delivery. Original sources for materials developed years ago have often been lost. The publishing of such materials may not always give adequate credit to those sources. When such sources are made known and verified, credit will be given.
