Effective ministry and mission work is a team effort. Jan and I have shared ministry and mission work for 56+ years! Countless people have encouraged us, supported us, loved us, and prayed for us. In addition to the customary "Brother Bob" or "Hermano Bob," I am also known as dad and papa (pa-paw). One of my favorite breakfasts is huevos fritos, frijoles, and tortillas, with hot sauce and a cup of rich coffee! The greatest joy of my life is being part of the kingdom of Jesus my King. My #1 priority is to advance "kingdom things" and to help develop authentic "kingdom people." I seek to share the Good News about Jesus everywhere I go, helping people find Jesus and helping people mature as disciples of Jesus. One of the greatest blessings of my life is to be loved by many people around the world!

A Note from Bob

Thank you for visiting us online. While these pages have my name on them, my ministry and mission work has been a partnership -- Jan and I have shared ministry for over 56 years -- and counting!
In 2007 we retired from our work in Christian higher education. A couple of years after we concluded our interim work in local church ministry. We retired so that we could expand our ministry through seminars and workshops, evangelism training, and mission work.

Hard to believe! Where did the time go? I was in college when in 1966 I began serving as a campus ministry intern. Beginning in 1967, for 43 years I had a Sunday preaching appointment with rare exceptions. Jan and I retired eighteen years ago in 2007 so we could pursue a dream for mission work. We attend the Fort Gibson (OK) church and are also members at the Park church in Tulsa (OK), although we spend much of our time in ministry and mission efforts away from the local churches as we travel and minister in various places around the world. In 2026, I will celebrate my 60th year of ministry and missions, teaching and preaching.
I have been marvelously blessed by God! I have had the opportunity to travel and minister through teaching, preaching, classes, and seminars focused on biblical studies, missions, ministry dynamics, leadership development, spiritual growth, church health, evangelism, and discipleship. I continue my involvement in mission work across Latin America through mission trips, seminars, workshops, preacher training, and teaching.

Growing up in Kansas, Jan and I had no idea that God would take us around the world as kingdom servants. We have been privileged to preach, teach, and work in over half of the United States and internationally in 18 countries. God is SO good!

An Overview of Bob and Jan's Story
Bob served as Professor of Bible and Ministry and Director of the Bible program at Ohio Valley University from 1995-2002. From 1999-2001 he in addition served as Executive Vice President, and from 2001-2002 as Senior Vice President for Administrative Services. In 2002 he and Jan retired to the center of the U.S. to be closer to aging parents.

Prior to his work at OVU, Bob served in full-time church ministry for 25+ years. Approximately 20 of those years were spent with the Holmes Road Church of Christ in Lansing, Michigan (1976-1987) and with the Fort Gibson Church of Christ in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma (1987-1995). During his years of service in Christian higher education (1995-2007), Bob had the privilege of preaching in more than 150 churches. His interest in interim ministry began during that time as he served as interim minister in local congregations.

After Bob and Jan moved back to the center of the U.S. in 2002, Bob preached briefly at the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ in McAlester, Oklahoma before he began serving as director of graduate Bible programs in the Graduate School of Theology at Oklahoma Christian University. In the fall of 2007, he and Jan retired from the academic arena. They briefly returned to McAlester to minister with the Main and Oklahoma church in a second season, while at the same time pursuing a mission dream. Bob soon concluded his work as pulpit minister with the church in order to expand his work in missions and ministry. They have been pursuing their "mission dream" for the past 19 years!
