About Me

This month’s picture--another of my favorites! Fifteen years of pictures on my computer, over a hundred trips to Latin America, thousands of pictures. With travel restricted and fewer new pictures available, I share some of my favorites! [Click picture to enlarge.]

Ministry and mission work is a team effort -- Jan and I have shared ministry and mission work for over 52 years! Countless people have encouraged us, supported us, loved us, and prayed for us. In addition to the customary "Brother Bob" or "Hermano Bob," I am also known as dad and papa (or papaw). One of my favorite breakfasts is huevos fritos, frijoles, and tortillas, with hot sauce and a cup of rich Colombian coffee! The greatest joy of my life is being part of the kingdom; my #1 priority is to advance "kingdom things" and to help develop authentic "kingdom people." I seek to share the good news about Jesus everywhere I go, helping people find Jesus and helping people mature as disciples of Jesus. One of the greatest blessings of my life is to be loved by people around the world!

About Us

A Note from Bob

Thanks again for visiting us online. While these pages generally have my name on them, the ministry has always been ours -- Jan and I have shared ministry for over 52 years, and we are still counting.
In 2010, we concluded our full-time work in local church ministry. We made the decision to retire early so that we could expand our ministry in church consulting, seminars and workshops, evangelism training series, and mission activities. I am now scheduling appointments for 2022. Contact me if you would like to schedule a seminar or other event.

Hard to believe! Where did the time go? Beginning in 1967 while I was still in college, for 43 years I preached almost every Sunday. Now officially "retired," Jan and I are members of the Park Church of in Tulsa, although we spend much of our time in ministry and mission work away from the local church as we travel and minister in various places around the world.
I have been marvelously blessed by God! In addition to my travels, I have time to continue my ministry through teaching and preaching, consulting, and conducting seminars focused on biblical textual studies, ministry dynamics, leadership development, spiritual growth, church health, and evangelism. I continue to research and write. Above all, I have time to be involved in mission work, primarily in Latin America, leading mission trips and participating in seminars, workshops, campaigns, preacher training, and various teaching activities. Along the way, I answer invitations to speak and help in various churches.

Growing up in Kansas, Jan and I had no idea that God would take us around the world as kingdom servants. We have been privileged to preach, teach, and work in over half of the United States and internationally in 18 countries. God is SO good!

Bob served as Professor of Bible and Ministry and Director of the Bible program at Ohio Valley College, now Ohio Valley University from 1995-2002. From 1999-2001 he served as Executive Vice President, and from 2001-2002 as Senior Vice President for Administrative Services. In 2002 he and Jan resigned the work at OVU to return to the center of the US to be closer to aging parents.

Prior to his work at OVU, Bob served in full-time ministry for 25 years. Approximately 20 of those years were spent with the Holmes Road Church of Christ in Lansing, Michigan (1976-1987) and with the Fort Gibson Church of Christ in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma (1987-1995). While at Ohio Valley, he had the privilege of preaching in more than 150 churches. His interest in interim ministry began during that time as he served as an interim minister in local congregations.

After Bob and Jan moved back to the center of the US in 2002, Bob preached at the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ in McAlester, Oklahoma. He then served as director of graduate Bible programs in the Graduate School of Theology at Oklahoma Christian University. In the fall of 2007, he and Jan returned to McAlester to minister with the Main and Oklahoma church in a second season. In early 2010 Bob concluded his work as pulpit minister with the church in order to expand his work in ministry and missions.
