Ministry must ultimately be about the message. We minister, as Jesus did, to meet the ultimate needs of humanity--spiritual needs, eternal needs.
Ministering the message.

1. Approach personally

  • develop friendship--become the visitors friend
  • discover their needs
  • demonstrate love by showing desire to meet those needs

    2. Begin personally

  • Ministry is always personal.
  • Genuine ministry meets needs.
  • Ministry is relational.

    3. Communicate personally

  • cliche
  • opinions
  • facts
  • emotions and feelings
  • experiences
  • [FINE--family, interests, needs, expectations]

    4. Disciple personally. We are trying to help others become disciples of Christ.

  • initiate them into personal faith
  • integrate them into the local church
  • involve them in the work of disciples
