Baxter Institute

Tomorrow I leave for a few days in Honduras. The primary reasons for my trip is to attend the annual board meeting of the Amicus Association (overseeing the work at Baxter Institute and the James Moody Adams Clinic), and to attend Baxter graduation. Along the way, many other things (mostly unexpected) occur. Dreams are formulated, new friends enter my life and friendships are renewed, stories are shared, successes are celebrated, new challenges are presented, and life is lived to its fullest even in the midst of challenges and problems. That God is at work in our world is ever more apparent.

The biblical text that has been returning to my thoughts again and again during the past few days is from Acts 16:10. “We understood that God had called us to tell the Good News to these people.” What Paul and his companions saw as they put together the experiences of life was that God was calling them according to his purpose. I pray that you and I might also see, as we put together the experiences of our lives, how God is calling us according to his purpose, to fulfill his purpose, and to glorify his name. May be it!

I may or may not find time to write of my experiences during the trip–I ask your patience and should to be back at my “blogging desk” next week.
