Have you ever wondered how we as a fellowship stack up against our religious (or non-religious) neighbors in spiritual activities? Have you ever wondered if some people are talking the talk but not walking the walk? Have you ever suspected hypocrisy? George Gallup is one pollster who has through the years provided various snapshots of religion in our nation. His Gallup Poll is a household phrase. In his 2000 book, The Next American Spirituality (Chariot Victor), he, along with Timothy Jones reports the results of a series of questions asked through a Gallup survey to discover what "A Day in the Spiritual Life of America" looks like.

In the survey, people were asked: "In the last 24 hours—that is, between this time yesterday and this time today—did you happen to do any of the following?" The results are interesting, even intriguing. Here's what people said.

Where do you fit in? Where do we fit in? Let us resolve to sharpen our spiritual focus.
