The Los Angeles Executive Club published some intriguing facts about salesmen's calls:
In other words, the difference between selling and failing lies in the number of calls. It is hard to get Christians to visit. It is difficult to motivate the militant army of God to march for the Master. It is even harder to get Christians to revisit. Yet revisiting insures succession both selling and visiting for Jesus Christ. There is no substitute for personal contact. It benefits both the caller and the person called upon. We like people better and they like us better as we really get to know one another. By repeating visits, our understanding and appreciation is increased. Salesmen and Christians must be persistent. Perseverance will bring success. Very few will respond on the first call.
The key is in visiting, visiting, visiting, and then visiting again. The answer to church growth is visit, visit, visit, and then visit again. Visiting is discouraging for many people. All would like to find success every time; all would like a positive response on the first call. Experience indicates this will not happen. Experiences shows that 80% of those who are eventually touched with the message of Jesus will be reached AFTER and not BEFORE the fifth visit. ARE YOU WILLING TO WORK THIS DILIGENTLY TO SAVE SOMEONE'S SOUL? Every saint this side of heaven out to be concerned with every sinner this side of hell!
